Sourdough Bread Making Workshops - July and August 2025

Become an artisan in your home kitchen and make fresh, homemade, delicious, artisanal style sourdough bread a staple in your life! Join our sourdough bread making workshops to learn the basics that will kick start a world of possibilities in sourdough baking. Our workshops are hands on and we proudly make the process fun, approachable, and accessible for anyone, at any skill level. We invite you to attend our workshops and welcome you to join us in “making bread the common thread”. Bring the joy of fresh bread into your home and #sharetheloaf!

2-hour workshop covering:

  • A brief history and science of sourdough - the original leavened bread.

  • Starter maintenance and uses.

  • Basic sourdough artisan loaf recipe.

  • Mixing and shaping. *Bonus - you will even mill your own whole wheat flour to use in the loaf you will prepare during the workshop.

  • Home baking methods and guidance.

  • And the best part- tasting! We will have a prepared loaf for tasting with butter and some refreshments.

What you will gain from this workshop:

  • A basic understanding of sourdough, the steps to maintain a sourdough starter and the techniques to prepare an artisanal style loaf.

  • We will provide some active starter for you to take home to continue maintaining and making sourdough recipes. (container will be provided)

  • At the workshop you will mix your own sourdough loaf, which you will take with you at the end of the workshop to bake at home. (container will be provided)

Our workshop will be held in a commercial production kitchen at Co-Lab in the 4th Street Market in Downtown Santa Ana.

Terms and Conditions

Cancellations will be accepted up to 5 days prior to workshop date for a partial refund of $85, or full credit can be transferred to a future workshop date within 6 months. Cancellations made within 5 days prior to workshop date are non-refundable and non-transferable.
